MESA, TESA, PESA, TESE
Those are techniques for taking sperm by surgery. Those techniques are done because a normal sperm retrieval (by ejaculation) cannot be done. Sperm retrieval is done on men with azoospermia, on men who cannot ejaculate on the day of oocyte collection which is usually caused by stress / stress factors which are common and also on men whose ejaculations only contain dead sperm.

PESA (Perkutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration)
Is a technique of taking (sperm aspiration) percutaneously from epididymis.
TESA (Testicular Sperm Aspiration)
Is a technique of taking (sperm aspiration) from the testicles.
TESE (Testicular Sperm Extraction)
Is a sperm retrieval technique by doing testicular biopsy.
